Your disk quota is the set amount of space that's assigned to your Akbar account for storing files and mail. All your personal mail and data files are stored in your home directory and are used to calculate your current disk usage.
- Each Student user account is allotted: 1.5 GB
- Each Faculty/Staff user account is allotted: 2 GB
- Each alumni user account is allotted: 1.5 GB
If you exceed these limits you will be contacted by email. You have a 7 day grace period to delete data. If you are still over your disk quota after the grace period, you will no longer be able to write files. This means you may not be able to save data, access, send, or recieve email.
If you have questions about deleting data please contact us.
If you have special circumstances, for instance, you are working on an academic project which requires the use of many large photos, contact us and we can adjust your quota.
You can use the web based quota reporter to check your current disk usage.
