Costa Rica TESOL Certificate Teaching Practice

The TESOL certificate internship consists of practice teaching and intercultural training. This will take the form of an internship in at an ESOL school in Costa Rica during the Spring Break. It is required in order to qualify for the certificate. Working in teaching teams, students will prepare a coherent six-day course for their respective class level (young adults beginner, children beginner or intermediate), and teach a minimum of six hours of classes individually, although planning is done collaboratively. They will also observe peers teaching and give and receive feedback on each day’s lessons in teaching group with trainer. Students will have the chance to attend daily workshops (determined according to specific trainee teachers’ needs) on topics ranging from culture and intercultural communication to feedback and teaching pronunciation.
