Charles University

For a student seeking a larger university experience in one of Europe’s most historic and beautiful destinations, Marlboro’s partnership with Charles University in Prague is a great program to consider. With close to 50,000 students, a stay at Charles University presents a unique opportunity for Marlboro students. Charles University is the oldest and largest university in the Czech Republic.

Academics: Charles is made up of 17 different colleges, including schools devoted to Theology, Law, Arts, Science, Education, and Humanities. While the exchange agreement goes through the School of Social Sciences, students can enroll in any course offered by the university. Courses are taught in English and other languages, granting a wide variety of choices for international students. Charles also offers Czech language classes at various levels, from Beginners to Intermediate.

Location: Unlike most American campuses, Charles University sprawls over Prague, with departments in the city center, on both sides of the Vltava River, and around the suburbs. Students get to experience the city to its fullest, with chances to enjoy Prague’s art galleries, historic architecture and hidden courtyards. Members of the International Student Club meet incoming students during the Orientation Week and not only guide you around through the necessary academic arrangements, but also run a buddy program, excursions, and other social events.
